Why security is not behind the paywall
Hardware-backed keys and Instance Connect exist so that fewer private keys sit on phones. Charging for them would mean charging users to be safer, and pricing the more secure option out of reach of the people most likely to skip it. They are free deliberately.
What Pro charges for is either a recurring cost to run — cloud backup — or a large amount of engineering against someone else's protocol, which is what the cloud tunnelling modes are.
Current status
The app is in internal testing on Google Play while the newer integrations are verified. Pricing is set in Play and shown in the app before you subscribe. Get in touch if you would like to join the test.
Subscriptions are managed by Google Play, so cancelling is done there and the usual Play refund terms apply. A lapsed subscription does not delete anything: your hosts, keys and settings remain, Pro features stop, and existing jump hosts keep working.
